Anyone with XRD tokens on the Radix Public Network can participate in staking, and earn emissions rewards. Unlike many blockchain networks where most rewards are reserved for a relatively small set of “miners”; on Radix, rewards to individual XRD stakers are actually the primary incentive – no need to run a physical node.
Staking to protect network security is very important to the security of the network, so it has been made as straightforward and rewarding as possible. How does Staking help secure the network? Each node's influence on the network is given a weight proportional to its amount of stake. If stake is nicely distributed over a lot of different validator nodes, that will mean that no single person of group of people can take control of the entire network.
If you stake XRD, you will be rewarded by the Radix protocol with a percentage of interest which is credited after each epoch (a logical quantity of time the Radix protocol uses).
