Before we begin, here are some quick facts about staking:
When you stake XRD to a validator, YOU still have full control over your tokens. Think of it as a type of voting mechanism, rather than a transfer. Even if the validator stops working or unregisters, your tokens will be safe and under your control at all times.
If you want to unstake, the tokens will be locked for exactly 500 epochs. The real-time duration of this amount of epochs is often estimated to be about 2 weeks.
It is important to stake responsibly. As I explained on the Why stake? page, staking acts as a voting mechanism to stop 1 person or group of people from taking control of the network, so don't put all of your stake on 1 validator! Choose a few validators you deem trustworthy, and divide your tokens over them. This stops any one validator from becoming too large. Read more.
Warning: If you try to find my validator on the Radix Explorer page, please note that there is an OLD validator of mine named “Krulk’s node-inator” in the list. Do not stake to this entry. Search for “Krulknul”, which is the new node.
Open the wallet and navigate to the "stake and unstake" section, indicated by the yellow box.
Copy and paste my validator address in the "Validator" field indicated by the yellow box:
rv1qtqp3mz6h8t3xslm4pdq5466jjgr7tdl7755zcpw6u9y4k6mrz3wyqvh992
Enter your staking amount in the "amount" field indicated by the red box. Check the entered information and click the green "Stake" button.
Carefully verify that the information indicated by the yellow box is correct. If it is and you wish to proceed, enter the pin you configured for the Radix wallet and click the "Confirm Transaction" button.
The transaction will now be sent to the network, and this completes the process.
Don't hesitate to ask around! I'm available for your questions on Discord, Telegram and Twitter, found via the Contact page. The Radix Discord also has plenty of community members ready to help out!
